It is bordered by North and South-west through the contributors of Bheri River and Myagdi Khola. The name Dhaulagiri is derived from the Sanskrit word meaning White Mountain. Until 1808, it was considered the world’s highest peak. It was first conquered on 13 May 1960 by the team of Kurt Diemberger.

The Dhaulagiri range is situated in the western part of Nepal. The Massif Annapurna Range is neighboured by the Dhaulagiri range. The deepest gorge of the world, Kali Gandaki River George, is between these two massive ranges. On Dhaulagiri range uncountable mountains about 8000, 7000, and 6000 meters.

The Dhaulagiri trek leads through the uninhabited valley, dense forest, farming terrain, and high alpine. The trekking route of Dhaulagiri is the most challenging and adventurous route of Nepal. Dhaulagiri is the least traveled destination of Nepal. It is filled with charming local people and marvelous snow-capped mountains with high passes like Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Manaslu, Mt. Annapurna, and so on. For true nature lovers, the Mount Dhaulagiri trek will be a blessing. Dhaulagiri is rich in flora and fauna with unspoiled landscapes.

Dhaulagiri region has its own diverse cultural history influenced by Tibetan Buddhism. Most of the area near Dhaulagiri is surrounded by Gurung, Sherpa’s, and Rai communities. Trekkers can get touched by the lifestyle of highlanders. This dominant group of communities has its own culture, tradition, and language. On the trail many monasteries, Buddhist prayer flags, and monasteries can be seen.

For Inclination, Autumn is the best season to trek. The charming beauty of green woodland, Majestic mountains, and blue skies can be encountered throughout this season. Spring is also considered the superior season for trekking as the milky snow scenario of Mountain can be seen.

The Climb.
Dhaulagiri is not only among the highest mountains in the world but is also one of the toughest mountains. Our climb demands a very high level of physical fitness and the best quality technical equipment. The strong wind at high altitude makes climbing even more difficult. We have to cross some high passes such as French Pass and Dhampus Pass before reaching the Base Camp. We set our base camp 4740 m at Chhonbardan Glacier below the rocky knob. There will be Advanced Base Camp (ABC) and four more camps. We will set up ABC at 5300 m; this will also be used for storing our equipment and other stuff. Then, we establish our Camp 1 at 5900 m, and Camp 2 at 6400 m. We then will set our Camp 3 at 7200 m and Camp 4 at 7500 m. The ascent from Camp 1 to Camp 2 requires stretches of steep climbing. We head towards the West Ridge with steep climbing and reach Camp 3. From Camp 3, we move to the East Ridge to reach Camp 4. We finally push to attempt the summit from Camp 4.
