For those intermediate climbers who wish to submit an 8000m peak, Cho Oyu is an achievable undertaking. Cho Oyu falls on a stupendous view of Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Everest, and many more hundreds of other snow-covered Mountains. This fact encourages the climbers that most attempts end in reaching the summit of Cho Oyu. At several dozen kilometers to the east, it has Mt. Everest as its neighbor.
In 1954, Cho Oyu was first climbed by an Austrian party. It has delighted tourists from all over the world as it offers the marvelous beauty of neighboring peaks like Mt. Nuptse, Mount Lhotse, and even Mt. Everest. Cho Oyu falls under Sagarmatha National Park, which is itself home to many endangered and rare species.
